CCTV IN FOOD MANUFACTURING
Ultra-HD Server Based CCTV & Biometric Access Control
Netcab were contacted by a local leading food manufacturer who produce foods that are sold throughout the UK. Their requirement was for a high end CCTV solution to monitor the food production lines and help prevent and trace the introduction of any foreign objects.
Working closely with the client, Netcab designed and installed an ultra-high definition system, that was permanently recording and offered instant playback whilst production was being monitored. Multiple food grade cameras were installed on a large scale throughout the manufacturing areas, covering the critical production points in ultra-hd.
The system was utilised immediately after commissioning and production lines were closely monitored. During this monitoring an unexpected benefit was realised. With a wider view of the production lines, it was observed that some production lines were not operating as efficiently as they could. Actions were quickly taken to rectify this and production lines were soon operating to their full potential.
I was contacted by the CEO of the company two months after the installation was complete and during that conversation, I was told that this unexpected by-product, had increased production so much that the system had paid for its self in the first month. This was welcome news and promoted the company to further invest in CCTV at its other manufacturing plants.
Following the success of the CCTV implementation, we continued to improve security and access at the plants, by introducing biometric finger print readers into the food production areas. This biometric access control prevented access to restricted areas, including areas where alcohol for ingredients was stored and further readers offered employee signing on points integrating into their pay role system.
