Please read on for more information about the various cabling solutions we offer.
Category 5e
Cat 5e cabling is the most widely used and cost-effective type of structured cabling available today. Although its primary use is for computer and data networks running up to 100mb (100 Base T), Cat 5e can also handle phone systems. With a standardized bandwidth of 100 megahertz, and in some cases higher, Cat 5e is adequate for many home and business applications. It is perfect for phone systems and data networks that will not be required to handle heavy data transmission at any point in the future.
Netcab is vastly experienced in Cat 5e installation and repair, always conforming to the latest in British Standards. If economical telephony and data cabling are all you need, let Netcab be your source for Cat 5e networks.
Category 6 /6a
Cat 6 network cabling is becoming very popular as data transmission sizes and speeds continue to increase. At 200 megahertz and higher, Cat 6 cabling has double the bandwidth of Cat 5. In addition to carrying larger amounts of data, Cat 6 is also more reliable and has greater immunity to external noise.
For those with very large data transmission needs, Cat 6a represents an even greater specification of performance of up to 500 megahertz. Cat 6a can support massive data transfer applications of up to 10 gigabytes per second.
Those considering whether to upgrade to Cat 6 should be assured that Cat 6 has complete backward compatibility with Cat 5 and even Cat 3. Any application that worked over Cat 5 will work over Cat 6. However, it should be noted that if network cabling components are mixed, performance will only reach that of the lowest category.
Many of Netcabs clients find that Cat 6/6a installations are adequate for their current and future data transmission needs. Cat 6/6a networks offer a good balance between high performance and reasonable budget.
